Hi, we’re REM.
Regina’s Museum Without Walls.

We are here to bring people together to learn about our past, present, and future in inclusive ways.

The Ecomuseum Concept is making it easier for all Regina citizens to dabble in some history through installations, conversations, and programming.

  • Sharing our stories to bring people together.

  • Breaking down walls to tell our stories, spark debate and foster belonging.

  • Building communities inspired by learning and sharing stories of the past and present that challenges and connects us all.

Meet the Team

Tenille Bryan, Project Coordinator

Tenille was raised in Regina. She attended the University of Regina and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art History. She is excited to be on REM’s team and to assist in telling the stories of Regina’s people and history. Tenille sees REM as a way to connect people to their community in an engaging and fresh way. In her spare time she enjoys taking in the local music and art of Regina with her friends, as well as reading and creating artwork.

Shari Hildred, Executive Administrator

Shari has worked with the museum for over 10 years and applies her expertise in administration, financial oversight and support to the incredible Board of Directors and their vision for a new museum model! She also supports many other organizations as a leader, project manager and UofR facilitator. She is extremely excited to be part of the REM and support the organization as it writes its next chapter as an ecomuseum!

Meet the board

  • Janet Lee, Chair and Volunteer Executive Board Member

Janet has always loved stories. So much so that she founded The Story Co. to help others find, and to live their stories. She is a successful entrepreneur with a strong track record in Regina’s business and volunteer community. “Stories have changed all of our lives from the beginning of time and the most powerful story you tell is your own.” Outside of the office, Janet likes to spend time with her family, Stella the dog, and being active through biking or (on a good day) conquering the ”‘leaning” tree pose.

  • Ross Keith, Past Chair and Volunteer Executive Board Member

Ross is a community champion and passionate about making Regina a great place to live. Ross and his wife Susan founded their family business Nicor Group in 1989, where he specializes in adaptive reuse of existing buildings, including a number of important heritage sites. He has been actively involved in the heritage community over the last 40 years by volunteering his efforts to numerous committees. Ross brings enthusiasm with him everywhere he goes, and is excited to see what REMs next chapter has in store.

  • James Youck, Volunteer Executive Board Member

James was born and raised in Regina and has been a Professional Architect shaping our city for the last 27 years, both in the physical and community sense. He has contributed widely to the architectural profession in the province, as well as lent his time as a board member for the Warehouse BID and the Regina Humane Society. In 2020 the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada elevated James to the College of Fellows in recognition of his contributions to the profession and to the community. James believes that telling the story of place is critical to preserving the history of our community and enriching our experience of living in the prairies. He spends his spare time traveling and has been fortunate to have visited over 20 countries from south-east Asia to Scandinavia.

  • Dr. Vanessa Mathews, Volunteer Board Member

Vanessa is passionate about public space, placemaking, inclusivity, community exchange, and heritage. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Toronto, an MA in Geography from York University, and a BA from Queen’s University. She currently works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies at the University of Regina. Drawn to the museum’s potential to establish place-based community development, Vanessa joined the Board of Trustees with REM in 2017. Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, and skiing, jogging, and biking through the city’s many public spaces.

  • Brian Drayton, Volunteer Board Member

Mr. Drayton has recently retired after spending a distinguished career as a Chartered Professional Accountant. He was recognized for his outstanding service to the community and his profession with the award of his Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Brian is of Metis decent, and was born and raised on a family farm in Saskatchewan. He was educated at the Royal University in Saskatoon and received his professional designation in Saskatchewan. Brian has always been generous with his time and expertise and has served on the Board of Directors and Chaired numerous enterprises and not-for-profit entities, both locally, Provincially and Nationally. Brian enjoys the outdoors and spends time with many pursuits such as wood working, hiking, fishing and farming. He enjoys history and story-telling. Brian is enthusiastic about helping to continue capture and preserve local history through the creation of the Museum without walls.

  • Christine Selinger, Volunteer Board Member

Christine believes that to truly build community, remembering and sharing stories is essential. As a passionate advocate of local history, she has served as President, VP, and Secretary of a museum and archives in Sherwood Park, AB prior to moving to Regina. She currently works as a Senior Intergovernmental Officer for the Government of Saskatchewan while finishing her Master's in Public Administration from Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. In any spare time she has left, you can find Christine coaxing her garden to grow, finding any excuse to go on a road trip, or wrangling her adolescent golden retriever, Waffle.
