Hi, we’re REM.
Regina’s Museum Without Walls.
We are here to bring people together to learn about our past, present, and future in inclusive ways.
The Ecomuseum Concept is making it easier for all Regina citizens to dabble in some history through installations, conversations, and programming.
-
Sharing our stories to bring people together.
-
Breaking down walls to tell our stories, spark debate and foster belonging.
-
Building communities inspired by learning and sharing stories of the past and present that challenges and connects us all.
Meet the Team
-
Janet Lee, Chair and Volunteer Executive Board Member
Janet has always loved stories. So much so that she founded The Story Co. to help others find, and to live their stories. She is a successful entrepreneur with a strong track record in Regina’s business and volunteer community. “Stories have changed all of our lives from the beginning of time and the most powerful story you tell is your own.” Outside of the office, Janet likes to spend time with her family, Stella the dog, and being active through biking or (on a good day) conquering the ”‘leaning” tree pose.

Tenille Bryan, Program Coordinator
Tenille graduated from the University of Regina in 2021 with an Art History degree. She is interested in innovative ways to showcase history, and connecting the communities through stories. She started with the REM in October of 2021 when the museum was being fully transformed from a static museum to an Ecomuseum model. Tenille dabbles in art and enjoys reading and traveling to new places for new experiences.

Christine Selinger, Volunteer Executive Board Member
Christine believes that to truly build community, remembering and sharing stories is essential. As a passionate advocate of local history, she has served as President, VP, and Secretary of a museum and archives in Sherwood Park, AB prior to moving to Regina. She currently works as a Senior Intergovernmental Officer for the Government of Saskatchewan and recently completed her Master's in Public Administration from Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. In any spare time she has left, you can find Christine coaxing her garden to grow, finding any excuse to go on a road trip, or wrangling her adolescent golden retriever, Waffle.

Dr. Vanessa Mathews, Volunteer Board Member
Vanessa is passionate about public space, placemaking, inclusivity, community exchange, and heritage. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Toronto, an MA in Geography from York University, and a BA from Queen’s University. She currently works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies at the University of Regina. Drawn to the museum’s potential to establish place-based community development, Vanessa joined the Board of Trustees with REM in 2017. Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, and skiing, jogging, and biking through the city’s many public spaces.
-
Laura Holizki, Volunteer Board Member
Laura is committed to sharing stories that challenge, connect, and inspire. Her career began with the Ministry of Agriculture, where she supported farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses—gaining invaluable insights into modern agriculture and developing a deep appreciation for the complexities of the industry before moving to an agriculture focused marketing agency, where she mastered the art of project management. Laura currently works for the Government of Saskatchewan in international trade and export development.
-
James Youck, Volunteer Executive Board Member
James was born and raised in Regina and has been a Professional Architect shaping our city for the last 27 years, both in the physical and community sense. He has contributed widely to the architectural profession in the province, as well as lent his time as a board member for the Warehouse BID and the Regina Humane Society. In 2020 the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada elevated James to the College of Fellows in recognition of his contributions to the profession and to the community. James believes that telling the story of place is critical to preserving the history of our community and enriching our experience of living in the prairies. He spends his spare time traveling and has been fortunate to have visited over 20 countries from south-east Asia to Scandinavia.
-
