Zurif Grocers Ghost Sign
The Zurif Building is located at 1437 Rose Street. In 1911 it was built for manufacturing agents Teese & Peres. Originally called the Teese & Peres building, it was renamed the Zurif building in 1943, and has been on the Regina Heritage Holding Bylaw list since 1989. Over the years, many different businesses have called it home, like the Canadian Consolidated Rubber Company, Dunlop Tire & Rubbed Goods, wholesaler Barber-Ellis, to now being home to Harry’s Hifi. The ghost sign on the north side of the building advertises Zurif Wholesale Dry Goods, and there is another ghost sign on the south side of the building that is too weather worn to read.
