Broad Street & Broadway Avenue

Broad Street doesn’t have a distinct thing it is named to honour, rather when the railway came to Regina, the first Canadian Pacific Railway depot was placed at the end of what became known as Broad street. All roads led to the station, so Broad and South Railway Streets were the hub of the early business district, which downtown’s business district holds its historical start.

Broadway Avenue is named simply for its location. This avenue leads east off Broad Street and is named for that reason.
