Hudson Paper Company Ghost Sign
The Warehouse district's railway boom at the turn of the century was in need of buildings to accommodate that growth. This building was built on 1708 8th Avenue in 1913 for that reason by the Whitmore Brothers Ltd. From 1916 to 1928 it served as a military supply depot. After it was home to the Hudson Paper Company from 1944 to 1960, which the ghost sign on the east side of the building shows. Later the occupants were Crown Zellerbach Paper Company from 1960 to 1965, then United Grain Growers Limited in 1965 to 1992. It is now refurbished loft style condos. It is a municipal Heritage Property.
