Army & Navy Ghost Sign
This ghost sign advertises the Army & Navy Warehouse that was located on 1148 Osler Street during the 1930’s and onward. The buildings original three storey portion was built in 1919 for Northern Electric Company until the late 1920’s when Army and Navy added the northern addition. This building is currently home to HBI. Army & Navy was the department store for anyone's needs for many years, at one point being one of the largest Canadian Department Store. Sadly in 2020 after 101 years in business, the Army & Navy closed all of their stores across Canada permanently.
