Big Bear Boulevard
Big Bear Boulevard was named for Cree Chief Big Bear. This was another street named to memorialize Indigenous history in Regina. Big Bear was involved with Treaty 6, as he objected to the signing of the agreement, and he was one of the leaders for the 1885 North-West Rebellion, which was the last largest battle on the Canadian Plains. He was ultimately forced to sign Treaty 6, as famine spread through his tribe due to the settlers over hunting the bison for the fur trade.
